2026 multi-attribute sustainable products
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) highlighted nine multi-attribute products that take a holistic approach to sustainability. Sustainable products that achieve two or more criteria are considered multi-attribute and deliver a higher scoring value when tallying LEED points. With the wide array of standards and certifications available, each with a different approach and scoring rubric, identifying what products genuinely support both the built and natural environments can be challenging, prompting USGBC’s overview of the products.
The products must highlight circular economy, social health and equity, as well as human, climate and ecosystems health. Such products include USG Sheetrock Brand EcoSmart Panels, Tarkett Resonant Spaces modular carpet tile with Ethos backing, Nucor hot-rolled structural steel sections and more.
