California’s First Wildfire-Resilient Neighborhood
KB Home has launched the nation’s first wildfire-resilient community, Dixon Trail, in Escondido, California—earning the new Wildfire Prepared Plus certification from the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. The 64-home development features advanced fire-resistant designs like ember-resistant vents, noncombustible materials and strategic building spacing to reduce fire spread, all while offering high levels of home customization. This project sets a new standard for fire-safe, sustainable housing in wildfire-prone regions.
