Geothermal Power Rises in the Bay Area
Homes in the Bay Area in Northern California are shocked to see their energy bills shrink thanks to the increased generation of geothermal power. Clean energy provider MCE, the largest geothermal power generator in the country recently expanded their system of plants. In comparison to other providers, they are happy to offer consistent rates while delivering a clean energy option.
In communities like the Bay Area geothermal energy may become more prominent in the future. The natural resource of Geysers, which produce geothermal energy are in Sonoma and other counties across the state.
“The great thing about geothermal energy is that it produces renewables around the clock 24/7. A lot of renewable energy that we have in our portfolio, like solar and wind, only produces part of the time. So having this geothermal energy is a great way to enhance reliability for our customers,” said MCE’s Dawn Weisz.
