Green Project of the Week: Zen House
Zen House by Minarc blends modern minimalism, nature, and sustainability into a sleek two-story residence, as well as a well-integrated Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) guest suite. The project emphasizes an active, outdoor lifestyle with its open design to blend nature with the home’s indoor living space.
Zen House’s design draws heavily from the clients’ travels, particularly their fondness for Bali, Indonesia. Large sliding doors and expansive windows exude a luxurious ambience while still maximizing natural light and facilitating cross-ventilation, ensuring that the home remains airy and bright throughout the day.
The interior of Zen House reflects a carefully curated blend of natural materials; wood, concrete and fire elements come together to create a warm, peaceful atmosphere to encourage tranquility. Using sustainable Valchromat MDF, finished with natural wood veneers or high-pressure laminates, the custom cabinetry adds an environmentally-conscious touch to the project.
