The largest certified Passive House in the south

Forge Craft announced their project, as the largest certified Passive House project in the South. Located in Austin’s Castle Hill Local Historic District, the project is namely the firm’s seventh completed passive house project. While the street view remains classic to the neighborhood charm as a classic cottage the project is secretly a 5,000 square foot duplex . It offers three separate families spacious and private living through thoughtfully designed private spaces.

The Architecture + Design studio based out of Austin, Forge Craft was founded by Scott Ginder who serves as the CEO. He curated an innovative team to prioritize building healthy and sustainable projects in Austin.  The firm builds both single family and multi family residential spaces with a core focus of connected spaces.

During this project, the firm navigated various rules for ADUs, coordinating with city officials and various oversight bodies to complete their vision. “Today, the West 7th Passive House duplex stands as a model for how density and history can beautifully coexist, enriching both the individual experience and the surrounding community,” said the firm.
