U.S. Green Building Council Certifies Milestone Green Housing Unit
The U.S. Green Building Council announced the certification of its 50,000th LEED green housing unit, marking a major milestone for sustainable residential construction. Launching in 2007, LEED for Homes has recently seen rapid growth, with 65% of units certified in just the past two years and more than 82,000 additional units in the pipeline. The rating system is credited with boosting energy and water savings by up to 30% and is widely adopted for its health, efficiency and environmental benefits.
