Green Project of the Week: Eastlake Residence

Seattle’s only Built Green–certified, floating home on Lake Union highlights is a blend of sustainable construction and water-based living. Built Green is a certification program for highly efficient homes in Washington. The Eastlake Residence is a floating home that features a tight building envelope and a 1,000-square-foot rooftop deck.

The 2,000-square-foot home has high insulation values, which help keep hot air out during the summer and cool air during the winter and keep conditioned air inside. The water-level floor is packed with spray and rigid foam insulation.
