Green Project of the Week: Harmony
The Harmony project is a 2,540-square-foot home designed with passive solar design, advanced framing and a battery system. Certified with Zero Energy Ready Home and ENERGY STAR, Ferrier Homes designed the project with a tankless water heater, WaterSense qualified plumbing fixtures and landscaping with native adapted plants and drip irrigation.
Instead of a traditional breaker box, the Texas-based builder used a SPAN smart electrical panel that offers whole-home energy monitoring and circuit-level control via a smartphone app.
The clients worked with the builder to carefully design and site their new home to preserve the natural habitat and enable them to live in harmony with the surrounding wildlife.
