Green Project of the Week: Net Zero by Vertical Arts Architecture

An entirely net zero home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, exemplifies sustainability balanced with luxury. The home designed by Vertical Arts Architecture is thoughtful of environmental impacts throughout design to construction. Vertical Arts Architecture is a full-service, multi-disciplinary firm. Its team includes highly experienced  designers, planners and technicians. They provide an array of architecture, land planning, interior and landscape design services. Brandt Vanderbosch founded Vertical Arts in 2004.

From picking out the building materials the team made sure sustainability was at its core. The lumber was responsibly forested alongside local stone and red list-free building materials. The furnishings are U.S-made and include cabinets made from soy-based plywood and bio-ethanol fireplaces. Home features a solar field that powers the home’s all-electric systems. As a net zero home the solar field allows for it to produce more energy than it consumes. The team was also mindful in picking out art from Colorado and Navajo artists.

The residence showcases both environmental responsibility and luxurious building. Through their mindful material selection and sustainable focused design, the home is a masterclass in sustainable luxury elevation.
