Green Project of the Week: American Farmhouse
This 5,734-square-foot home in Jonestown, Texas, was designed to blend equestrian-inspired architecture with high performance. Built by Younger Homes, the American Farmhouse is ENERGY STAR and Indoor AirPLUS Certified.
The American Farmhouse was designed to appear like its namesake, but with a luxurious makeover by Danze & Davis + Moore House Interiors. Wooden beams frame the angular ceiling in the living room, adding a rustic flair to the space. Picture-frame windows frame the dining room, letting natural light illuminate the space and blend the lines between indoor and outdoor living.
A neutral interior throughout offsets wooden finishes and earthy-toned accents, such as the sage green cabinetry in the kitchen. The pale color palette extends to the exterior to contrast the dark roofing, making the room appear like a luxurious ranch.
