Green Project of the Week: Colorado Smart Home

Japanese-inspired architecture elegantly blends with the latest smart home technology in this 8,800-square-foot Colorado home. The client had a passion for Japanese culture that stemmed from his travels; an aspect he wanted to incorporate into the project when he reached out to Logic Integration, a residential and commercial integration firm that is based in Lone Tree, Colo.

“From the beginning, the homeowner made it clear that he didn’t want technology to interfere with the home’s serene, minimalist aesthetic,” said Shawn Hansson, CEO and Founder of Logic Integration. “Our challenge was to integrate robust systems while keeping everything visually discreet.”

Logic Integration replaced multi-gang light switches with Control4 keypads and flush-mounted small-aperture speakers seamlessly with ceiling surfaces. The result is a clean, uninterrupted visual flow throughout the home. Control4 powers the home’s 21-zone audio system, video distribution across all key rooms and custom lighting scenes. Through strategically placed Control4 touch panels in the kitchen, master bedroom, other bedrooms and pool house, the client and his guests can activate scenes, control the shades, or adjust the audio.
