Green Project of the Week: River Sol
River Sol, built by James Fagan Construction, is the world’s sixth Living Certified residence and second in Bend, Ore. The project is net positive energy, operating solely using precipitation that falls on site. Additionally, River Sol was assembled using only rigorously vetted, non-toxic building materials.
The interiors were designed with a rustic, modern flair. Wooden cabinetry offers a calming contrast to the bold quartz island in the kitchen. Natural light bounces off the wooden materials, offering a warm, calming atmosphere.
The compact main house and attached accessory dwelling unit were situated above the Deschutes River riparian zone, on property once occupied by a small lumber mill in downtown Bend.
