What does the builders adoption of AI actually look like?
Home Innovation Research Labs debuted new research from a survey of builders on their adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The research reported that AI use among homebuilders in 2026 is at 64%, which doubled from 2025 at 32%.
Builders see this technology as a way to reduce construction costs and cycle times, but increasingly it is used in home design and planning. Builders also reported integrating AI into marketing and communications functions, estimating and project management.
Home Innovated said that production builders are more likely to integrate this technology compared to small-volume or custom builders.
