Phius opens entries for 2026 Passive Projects Design Competition

Phius, the passive house certifier, announced it opened entries to its Passive Projects Design Competition. This award recognizes Phius Certified projects that raise the bar not only on high-performance practices but also on engaging design and livability.

Projects are eligible across residential categories such as single-family, high-rise multifamily, low-rise multifamily and retrofit. Phius will also recognize awards for Best Overall Project and Best Project by a Young Professional.

To be eligible for the Passive Projects Design Competition, projects must be fully Phius Certified before the entry submission deadline of August 21, 2026. Winners will be announced at the PhiusCon 2026 opening plenary on October 9, 2026, in Phoenix, Ariz.

“We will no longer be awarding honorable mentions for any of the categories, there will only be winners — the best,” said Max Lapthorne, Phius Communications Manager.  “This change is meant to further spotlight the work of the project teams whose buildings truly go above and beyond and provide them with the distinguished recognition they deserve.”
