Green Project of the Week: St. Paul Residence

Green Hammer, a builder based in Portland, Ore., gave the 1920s St. Paul Residence in the Willamette Heights neighborhood a sustainable makeover. The home renovation was a collaboration with Cellar Ridge Construction and Amy Troute Inspired Interior Design. The redesigned farmhouse incorporates sustainable materials, modern design elements and innovative energy solutions, reflecting the clients’ deep commitment to environmental stewardship and their love of nature.

Green Hammer’s clients for this project were a couple; a farmer and an artist with three grown children ready to reimagine their living space. Designing the renovation required blending the tranquility of rural living with the vibrancy of a working farm and artist studio.

Custom design elements, including a fireplace mantle crafted from live-edge wood sourced directly from their property and custom-made light fixtures inspired by the region’s flora, reflect the owners’ connection to nature and creativity.
