New Passive House community breaks ground
A new large-scale passive house community is coming to Massachusetts.
Alta Thoreau, a 237-unit multifamily project, broke ground this week on its two five-story structures.
Developed by Wood Partners, the project will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom homes. Alta Thoreau plans to be fully electric, Passive House certified and make sustainable swaps such as porous pavement.
This is the developer’s first Passive House project in the state. It is expected to be completed in early 2028.
